As all Banyan Tree properties, Mayakoba was designed by Architrave, Banyan Tree’s in-house architectural division, paying utmost attention to the preservation of nature and the comfort of guests. Mayakoba property features innovative designs that offer new experiences to discerning travelers. The lobby extends majestically to the sky resembling the hull of a boat at the time it encloses a lagoon as its courtyard, paying homage to the name ‘Mayakoba’ – village over the water. True to its origins, Banyan Tree Mayakoba bears Asian crafts, furnishings, objects d’art and ethnic apparels conveying Thailand’s intrinsic beauty to its guests.

The villa design depicts on houses of the Far East, enclosing a landscape garden; this type of architecture ensures guests privacy yet maximal space, adding an extra dimension to a holiday in the enchanting Riviera Maya: elegant exclusivity in a Villa where guests can swim and sunbathe in perfect privacy in their own swimming pool. Each villa décor reflects Asian and Mexican culture by embracing its occupants with  holistic wellness and displaying at the same time Mayan and Mexican arts and crafts, fabrics, wood, sculptures and accents from all regions of the country.
